Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Teen Insider different from other online magazines?

Other teen magazines have adult writers and executives who try to appeal to their teenage audiences. Teen Insider, on the other hand,  is run and written by teens. In addition, Teen Insider will not rot your brain. We offer a wide variety of topics that are relevant to you and your life. Many other (especially women’s) magazines focus on things like celebrity gossip and weight loss. You won’t find any of that here.

Is Teen Insider really run by teens?

Yes, and all articles are written by teens as well. Of course, we’ve had some help from adults, but we’re the ones running the show.

How did you come up with the idea for teen insider?

Freshman year (in high school), I (Nina) wanted to create a website with resources for girls in STEM (scholarship information, internship opportunities, etc.) and Alexis wanted to start an entertainment-focused online magazine. We merged our ideas to create Teen Insider. I came up with the name, and Alexis came up with the logo. After more than a year, we finally got the website up and running.

I own a small company. can i Partner with or sponsor teen insider?

Yes! In exchange for a small fee (dependant on website traffic), we will write an article and/or post on our social media about your business. Your service or product must be relevant to our demographic. Please contact us here if you are interested.

How can I get involved?

One of the biggest things that makes Teen Insider unique is how much our readers are involved in what we post. You can write and publish your very own article on our site here, or you can communicate with our founders and/or writers here!

Where do you get your information?

Personal experience, and well, the Internet. A lot of our tips–like our study tips–come from places like Tumblr or Instagram and were written from personal experiences. As far as factual evidence goes, we avoid sketchy websites and we are very careful what we post. However, we do not assert that 100% of any facts on our sites are 100% accurate (this is not a scientific journal) If you spot any information that may be misleading, we are genuinely not aware of it, so please do not hesitate to let us know! We will correct our mistake immediately.

Where can I find an article about ____ ?

All of our articles are tagged by subject and relevant keywords. Use our tag links on the right side of the website, or use our search bar in the top right corner of your screen to find what you’re looking for.

Are the photographs on this website yours?

We do not take credit for any of the photographs on our site unless specified. All photographs belong to their respective owners. In addition, we site all of our photo sources.
