Spy

Summary: Spy is a hilarious comedy/thriller starring Melissa McCarthy who depicts CIA analyst, desk jockey Susan Cooper going on her first undercover assignment to avenge the death of her agent, Bradley Fine.
Why you should watch it: Every scene in this movie will make you blurt out laughing- and not only from the physical comedic scenes. It also ties in feminism in the plot, which is a plus point. Keep in mind that this is rated R.
Mamma Mia

Starring: Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin FIrth, Pierce Brosnan
Summary: This ultimate feel good musical is about Donna (Meryl Streep), a single mom and independant Greek hotelier, preparing for her daughter’s (Amanda Seyfried) wedding. Things get complicated when the daughter, Sophie, invites 3 men from her mother’s past in hope of meeting her real father at her wedding.
Why you should watch it: You may have heard of Mamma Mia since it has been on Broadway and just released a sequel in 2018. The plot may not grab you and you’ll probably think it’s cheesy, but it’s critically acclaimed and has been legendary due to its stellar cast, stunning Greek Islands background, and most importantly the sensational ABBA songs. It’s totally worth it! If you like this movie then you will love the sequel!
Ghostbusters (2016)

Summary: 4 women join forces to take down the malicious ghostly, paranmormal activity haunting New York.
Why You Should Watch It: You very well may have seen or heard of the legendary Ghostbuster movies. This 2016 reboot starred an all female (and SNL) cast attempting to take down the goofy yet obnoxious ghosts, and is filled with jokes that will sure enough make you laugh. The comedic addition of Chris Hemsworth is brilliant, as well.
Pink Panther 2

Starring: Steve Martin, Emily Mortimer, Jean Reno, Aishwarya Rai
Summary: The clueless French Inspector Clousseau is back at it again when he heads the investigation of the notorious cat burglar “The Tornado.”
Why You Should Watch It: The Pink Panther series is a must classic. For this movie to be enjoyable you must not focus on the “big storyline” but instead appreciate the goofy comedy. Also great movie for the whole family!
Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001)

Summary: With a failed love life and emptiness, 32 year old Bridget Jones, decides to take control of her life and write a diary. From her attempting exercise to food to men, she’s turning the page on a whole new life!
Why You Should See It: This relatable movie is one of the best acclaimed and legendary rom coms out there also with a reputation for its hilarious comedy. This movie is enjoyable before a breakup, after a breakup- when ever! Keep in mind that this is rated R.
Johnny English Strikes Again (2018)

Summary: Johnny English is the secret service’s last hope when the identity of all the undercover, classified agent’s identity is revealed by a mysterious cybercriminal.
Why You Should See It: The third, most recent, installment in the beloved Johnny English series, brings even more laughs from all the goofy scenes. By the end of the movie you will have inumeral inside jokes to laugh to. The prequels are hilarious as well! This is similar to Pink Panther. Great to see with the whole family too!
Legally Blonde

Summary: Elle Woods, the girl who has everything and is the most popular and loved in her sorority, decides to apply to Harvard to win her boyfriend back for being “too blonde.” After getting accepted she faces new struggles of her own.
Why You Should See It: This is a must classic rom com that will surely bring out a smile. While being delightly being funny, it not only empowers females but shines light on a different perspective as well as issues and discrimination.
Bridesmaids

Summary: Annie (Kristen Wiig) becomes the maid of honor at her best friend, Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding. Kristen, failing miserably at life and penniless, drags Lillian and the other bridesmaids through expensive rituals and parties to prove that she is the “bride’s go-to pal.”
Why You Should See It: This hilarious movie showcases a star studded female cast. This shouldn’t be passed up for any 0ther chick flick and is great to see with your girlfriends and besties! Keep in mind that this is rated R.
Pitch Perfect

Starring: Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Skylar Austin, Adam Devine
Summary: College student Beca reluctantly joins her college’s a cappella group to sing and dance with other girls while competing against teams.
Why You Should See It: Pitch Perfect is a mix of romance, music, and comedy! Adam Devine and Rebel Wilson “Fat Amy” bring a smile, as well as the catchy soundtrack. (Remember Anna Kendrick’s Cups song!)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Starring: Will Ferrel, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate, David Koechner
Summary: Thriving anchorman, Ron Burgundy, has the time of his life with him having his favorite job and a group of best buddies. However, things go downhill when a new anchorman comes in to town- a woman who begins to outshine him. Things get even weirder when Burgundy is immediately attracted to her.
Why You Should See It: This movie is pure comedy starring WIll Ferrel, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and others such as Seth Rogen. It is super silly and mischievous but also delivers and incorporates witty jokes in the skits. Christina Applegate plays the ambitious and feminist Veronica COrningstone. This is a must see.
